Home Based Care – Bethesda Medical and Relief Services
The organisation is made up of three different divisions:
– The Child and Youth Care Centre
– The Intermediate Care Facility
– The Home Community Based Care Programme
The Child and Youth care centre offers care to kids who have been traumatised or orphaned. Their mission is to help the children develop physically, socially, spiritually and emotionally through various programmes. Above all , their final goal is to help the children to reintegrate into society.
Bethesda has been active in the local community for the past sixteen years. And so Hollywoodbets George decided to support this fantastic organisation for the fifth year running.
The team delivered a 2 plate stove as well as curtains for the three family homes of the Child and Youth Care Centre.
Projects Manager Marzanne Cillié told us more about the good work they do.
“We feel that if we can provide an environment for these children that is cheerful, safe and private it will lift their spirits. They will gain a sense of pride and their attitudes will change by the fact that they feel they are important.
The children in our care are faced with the challenge of coming from a harsh background. Many of the children are traumatised and have no sense of belonging and feel unsafe due to the lifestyle in their communities.
The goal that we want to achieve with this project, with the kind assistance of Hollywoodbets, is to improve the family homes and way of living for our children.
The family homes were built up with many donations and second hand goods and we believe it would make a grate difference in the lives of our children if they can now brag with new curtains and kitchen appliances in the place they call home,” she said.
